The reason Marxism (Communism) can never work is that it is based on a completely wrong assumption about human beings: that they can be transformed (back) into a perfectly social(ist) species on a spiritual and instinctual level. That's it. That's the real reason.

Marxists assume true human nature is social (Communist) and that we've been estranged from our true selves by the existence and priority of private property, which individualizes us and turns us "selfish." This isn't true, but Marxism is a religion designed to make it "true."

Marxism always fails in practice because it is always believed that by one method or another (conversion, force, totalitarianism, brainwashing, nudging, social credit totalism) that it can force human beings to remember who they really are, which is Communist. It always destroys!

Doesn't work for bees either. Bees do "primitive Communism." Every hive is a family, and they guard their family interests jealously and violently. The hive and their honey, arguably their queen, are their acquired property, and all thieves and free-riders are dispatched.
