Idol Philippines Winner Khimo Gumatay Announces Concert
Solo Concert Announcement
MANILA — Khimo Gumatay, the grand champion of “Idol Philippines” Season 2, will hold his first solo concert at the Music Museum in Greenhills on October 25. Titled “KH1MO Emerge. Energize. Elevate,” the event celebrates his second winning anniversary and his birthday.
Special Guests
Joining Khimo are Tawag ng Tanghalan duets champion JM Dela Cerna, Marielle Montellano, the “Elvis Presley of Japan” Douglas Masuda, and Joey San Andres. Fans can expect an exciting night of performances.
Dedication to Preparation
At a recent press conference, Khimo shared his dedication to the concert. “I’m focused like a soldier waking up early to prepare and study my songs. It’s the same Khimo but times two,” he said.
Impact of Winning ‘Idol Philippines’
Khimo noted that winning the grand title has motivated him to elevate his music career. “I’m grateful for the win, but I need to keep moving forward. The title will fade, and what remains is my name and my accomplishments.”
Musical Influences
Khimo credits his father, a former band member, and OPM artists like Basil Valdez and Martin Nievera as his influences. “Their music shaped my upbringing and continues to inspire me,” he added.
Future Collaborations and Acting Aspirations
Khimo hopes to collaborate with KZ Tandingan, as they share a similar musical style. He is also open to acting offers, having participated in theater during college. “If acting opportunities arise, I won’t hesitate to take them,” he said.
