Changing a passenger's name to someone else is not possible on any airline. For the sake of security, JetBlue sticks to the JetBlue name change policy. But, there are a few exceptions to this norm. In this Wingstravo blog, we give details of when you can change a name.

Can I correct my name on JetBlue?

You may think it is a name correction. But the name change policy will consider it a name change. Get in touch with JetBlue at +1-800-538-2583 or +1-888-413-6950 to understand how name change and name correction are different. JetBlue will consider the below as a name change even if what you’re doing is correcting an error.

  • Only one reissue per ticket is allowed for a name correction with JetBlue. A second name correction will be considered name change requiring you to pay change fees and fare difference.

  • Making corrections to both the date of birth and the name would be considered a name change and would be subject to name change policy.

As part of ensuring security, all airlines have to share data on passengers with Transportation Security Administration (TSA). So, you cannot entirely change the name. When you are in doubt whether your amendment will be deemed a name change or name correction it is best to cross-check with JetBlue at +1-800-538-2583. How to change my last name on JetBlue?

You are allowed to change your name on JetBlue only if you have legal documents to prove that your name has changed. This can happen in the case of marriage, divorce, and adoption. If you want somebody else to travel on the ticket, you will have to rebook the ticket. Here are the steps JetBlue would want you to follow if you want JetBlue name change on Ticket.

  • Cancel the segments in the current Passenger Name Record (PNR) & leave the ticket open.

  • Book a new PNR for the new customer and revise the fare.

  • Use the open ticket and process a voluntary exchange or reissue on that ticket.

  • Pay the change penalty fee and any difference in fare at the time of reissue as per JetBlue name change policy.

  • If you’re not able to correct the name, you will have to book a new PNR with the correct name.

  • If the operating airline (OA) is not JetBlue, your travel agency must contact the other airline before processing for approval of the name correction.  If the OA refuses to accept the name correction, the change would be considered a JetBlue change name on ticket.

Name correction would not cost you anything. But not correcting an error may land you in trouble. You can either call JetBlue at 1-800-538-2583 or Wingstravo at +1-888-413-6950 to get guidance.
