這一天較 Bitcoin Pizza Day 更早，同樣值得紀念

2010 年 3 月 30 日，比特幣元祖討論區 bitcointalk.org 上的會員 SmokeTooMuch 發文， 想進行一個實驗，以競投方式賣出他持有的 10,000 比特幣，底價是 $50， 拍賣為期 7 天。原文是：

Bitcoin Auction: 10,000.00 BTC --- Starting Bid 50.00 USD

Hi,

I want to make a little experiment here:

I want to auction 10,000 BTC off, starting bid is 50 USD.
(10k BTC are currently worth ~65.50 USD)

The auction will run for seven days. It will finish @ 6th April 3.00am German Time (usually UTC +1h, +2h at the moment).

To make a bid you have to post in this thread here and say how much you bid.
Only condition: every bid has to be at least 1 USD higher than the previous one.

After the auction is over, I will pm the highest bidder and will send him 5000 BTC, then I will wait until the bidder has transfered his money to my paypal account and will then send the other 5000 BTC. This is necessary to protect me from false/joke bidders.

不，不是一個比特幣底價 $50，是全部 10,000 個比特幣底價 $50。

從文中可見，當時 10,000 個比特幣似乎是值 $65.5， 即每比特幣價格是 $0.00655，比約兩個月後的 Bitcoin Pizza Day 的 $0.0041 還要高。

但這次拍賣乏人問津，限期內只收到兩個分別是 $20 及 $25 的出價，第一個出價者 "dwdollar" 出價 $20 似乎都是玩票性質：

第二個出價的 "NewLibertyStandard" 亦嫌底價 $50 太高，從他提供的連結 (已失效，http://newlibertystandard.wetpaint.com/page/Exchange+Rate)，他看到坊間已有 22,000 個比特幣，覺得潛在供應很多，建議樓主將底價降至 $30：

七天後，拍賣有效期完結，因為沒有收到合格的標價，樓主宣佈流標：

十三年後的我們，事後孔明地看 Bitcoin Pizza Day，驚嘆有人用了 10,000 個比特幣來買 pizza，如果當時沒有用這些比特幣，它們現在值 $2.7 億！但在此前的兩個月的這日子，亦無人願意用 $50 買 SmokeTooMuch 手頭上的 10,000 個比特幣。

這是十三年前的事，誰又知道十三年後的比特幣又會升到多少？都不要說十三年了，三年前，比特幣亦只是在不足 $9,000 的水平徘徊。

我真正開始 not your keys not coins，以自己的私鑰去管理自己的比特幣，其實亦只是四年前，我在 2019 年 5 月才開始接觸 Ledger，甚至可能比你們當中的一些人更遲，雖然我仍只是在一個學習的 bitcoiner，但夠厚面皮地在此推廣比特幣，是希望與大家一起學習，當年一個意外令我進入幣圈，遇上比特幣 OG 成為我們的伯樂及老師，我未有資格做老師，但至少希望令你產生一個燈泡💡時刻，可能一些朋友受我啟發，從此瘋狂鑽研比特幣。
